Artist's Statement

Texture. Color. Light. The manipulation of paint. These elements are the basis of my paintings. I strive to strip away all but what is necessary to create a balance between rawness and elegance, tranquility and turmoil. This dance is subtle and, in the end, each image has its own sense of movement and space. The harmony is revealed as you observe the painting's presence.
